Lloyd’s Inactive Vessels is a weekly report listing commercial vessels currently defined as inactive by the Lloyd’s MIU database.
Using eye-witness port calls as well as electronic AIS signals, Lloyd’s MIU are able to confirm ship movements around the globe. This data means that we can clearly establish which ships are currently inactive and not taking part in the global shipping market.
The report is made up of two pages:
- Fleet Page - lists all the crucial data associated with each vessel recorded as inactive. This includes their last known AIS location, their commercial operator, and key characteristic information including the IMO number, current name, type, flag, year of build, tonnage/size, dimensions, TEU capacity, insulated space and gas capacity.
- Summary Page - a comprehensive statistical breakdown of the inactive fleet. This page contrasts the number of inactive vessels with the total commercial fleet, including statistics by ship type and total deadweight tonnage.
